Swim Safe
Hello fellow bloggers. I hope you had a nice week at school I know I did. We had swim for life, the teacher taught us about being safe in water. The people in the pool raised their hand and the people outside the pool threw something in to them so they could grab hold of it to get taken to safety. We did this because lost of people around NZ are drowning in seas and pools.

Penguins
Penguins
The penguins is a bird. The largest type of penguin is the king and the smallest is the baby blue penguins. There are 17 species of penguins.
Diet
Penguins like to eat fish and squid. Penguins beaks are sharp and that's what helps them catch food. It takes penguins two days to catch food for their babies but they need to be feed daily otherwise they will die. The mother catches the food and regurgitates it for the baby.
Reproduction
Mother penguin lay up to one or two eggs a year. They make a nest fromfeathers, twigs and leaves. Both parents look after the egg twice a month . The chick peeks out and sees if the mother has arrived home from fishing. It takes about 7-10 weeks until the chicks get their adult feathers.
Appearance
Penguins have a black back and a white front. They have short legs and webbed feet. They waddle side to side. They have wings like flippers. They can’t fly but they are excellent swimmers. They have heavy bodies and that is why they stay under water.
Habitat
You can find penguins in the Antarctic and Southern Ocean. When it is breeding time they can be found on the coast of NZ Australia.
Penguins are hunted by seals.
Geometry
In class we have been learning geometry. Here is my work. We were looking at how many faces, edge, corners 3D shpaes have and the shapes of real life objects.
